What is the 2021 University-Industry Interaction Conference

This online conference, organised by UIIN, is an annual conference organized since 2012 and brings together over 500 university leaders, practitioners, academics and industry representatives.

During this event we will bring you with insights into the ‘how-to’ when it comes to developing more engaged & entrepreneurial universities, driving regional growth, managing your strategic partnerships and develop a system supporting student and academic entrepreneurship. Our new online event will leverage the experience and insights from over 80 speakers.

What can I expect from an online UIIN Event?

Since the COVID-19 crisis, UIIN has developed a new online events program consisting of online discussion panels, workshops, and fireside chats. Through our experience in hosting one of the largest events in university-industry engagement, the University-Industry Interaction Conference, we have put together a format that will provide you with valuable content, interactive sessions promoting engagement, as well as opportunities to network.

Can I network at the University-Industry Interaction Conference?

Yes, you can! You will be able to visit networking sessions and workshops throughout all days.

What are the start and end times for the event?

You can find the start and end times on the conference schedule. All times are in Central European Time.

What are the dates for the University-Industry Interaction Conference?

The dates for the University-Industry Interaction Conference are June 14-16, 2021

What is the deadline for the submission of proposals?

The deadline for the submission of proposal is February 22nd, 2021. Submit your contributions through https://uiin.org/conference/

Who can attend the event?

Anyone with a valid ticket is welcome from anywhere around the world.

What is the refund policy if I cannot attend the University-Industry Interaction Conference

  • Cancellations made between 60 and 90 days prior to the Conference will be refunded 90% of the registration fees.
  • Cancellations made between 30 and 60 days prior to the Conference will be refunded 50% of the registration fees.
  • Cancellations made less than 30 days before the event will not be eligible for a refund.
In case you are unable to attend the event a substitute delegate from your organisation is welcome at no extra charge. Your request has to be made via e-mail at least 5 days prior to the event, in writing to: [email protected]
Any bank or credit card charges resulting from a registration cancellation are for the registrants account.

How can I get a ticket?

Can I order my ticket now and pay for it later?

Yes, you can order your ticket now and pay for it later by credit card or invoice. When registering for the event you will have weeks to complete your registration before your ticket gets canceled.

Can I transfer my ticket to another person?

Yes, you can. Please contact [email protected]

What does the differentiation between Organisational Member, Individual Member & Non-Member mean?

UIIN Is an international Network that brings together a diverse community of university and industry professionals. Participants with either an Organisational Membership or Individual Membership receive a discount or can attend our online events for free. If you do not have an active UIIN Membership, you can still participate in our online event through purchasing a non-member ticket.

Are there any discounts or reduced registration fees for those selected as speakers?

The conference does not offer discounts for speakers.

When is the latest I can purchase tickets online?

Ticket prices increase periodically but will remain available until the start of the event.

Access to the Online Conference

What do I need to access the online event?

Prior to the event, you will need to make sure you are able to access Zoom on your digital device. On the day of the event, you can join the session by clicking on the link that has been provided to you.

Are there any other points to be mindful of during the online conference?

  • Have a good internet connection and headphones just in case 
  • Join the session few minutes before it starts 
  • Mute your microphone when you do not say anything 
  • Have your camera on for more interactive atmosphere   
  • Write your full name in Zoom 
  • Participate actively by using the chat function  

Can I watch on my phone/tablet?

We recommend watching on a computer or laptop for the best experience, but the stream will also work on mobile and tablet.

Can I share the link to join the online event with a colleague?

No, the link to the event is unique to you, so your colleague or friend will need to register for a ticket to get access.

I am not available at the time that the session I have registered for is taking place, will the sessions be recorded and posted on a later date?

This is a LIVE online conference and we encourage everyone to be present during the live sessions. The sessions will be recorded and only UIIN Members will have free access to these recordings.

Note: workshops and networking sessions will not be recorded or shared.
