For this episode, facilitated by Sarah Jaber (UIIN), we have invited Arturo Pizano, Program manager of University Collaboration at Siemens; Georgia von Guttner, Director of Innovation Precincts at the University of Melbourne; Robert (Denny) Lorentz, Director, Strategy and University Engagements at 3M’s Corporate Research Laboratory; and Leah Burton, Director of the Partnership Office at NC State University; to explain how their organisations engage and interact with their stakeholders to create meaningful partnerships.

In this new series, we will focus on External Engagement and Industry Partnerships. Developing enduring strategic partnerships with industry provides far greater and more sustainable value to universities than taking a more transactional approach that leads to one-off research projects or licensing arrangements. But so often, universities are not at a necessary state of ‘readiness’ and struggle to approach external partners strategically.
