The 2025 UIIN Conference Proceedings bring together a rich and diverse set of academic and practitioner insights that reflect the conference theme “Reimagining Universities for Talent, Innovation and Impact.” These papers highlight how institutions across the globe are advancing university-industry collaboration, entrepreneurial education, and innovation ecosystems.

From Jönköping University’s narrative of community-engaged learning to the development of a maturity assessment tool for start-ups by TH Wildau, the proceedings span theory, application, and regional relevance. The University of Bath and the University of Warwick explore how to develop mathematical innovators, while LAB University of Applied Sciences presents a regional approach to enhancing AI capabilities in SMEs.

Tampere and Seinäjoki Universities of Applied Sciences bring forward models of living labs and aftercare co-operation with SMEs, showcasing strategies for sustained engagement. Meanwhile, a joint paper by Lund University, University College London and the University of Copenhagen unpacks the often-invisible “craft of collaboration” behind societal impact.

International perspectives further shine through Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University’s undergraduate entrepreneurship model and The University of the West Indies’ reflections on entrepreneurial culture in the Caribbean. Queen’s University, in partnership with The Knowledge Society and Okwaho Equal Source Inc., highlights universities as anchors for regional innovation. Lastly, WiSys examines how use-inspired research accelerates innovation and venture creation.

Together, these contributions offer a compelling snapshot of how universities and their partners are transforming roles, systems, and structures to generate lasting societal and economic value.
