Innovation Precincts: Place, Proximity and Space

The UIIN Australia Chapter will be organizing a two-day forum at Australia National University in Canberra from May 4th to 5th around innovation precincts.

Innovation precincts are meeting places for entrepreneurship and innovation for driving economic growth. Having recognised the importance of place, proximity and space in fostering collaboration across institutions, innovation precincts play a key role in the future of our urban environments. Home to universities, public and private R&D stakeholders and other anchor institutions these precincts are hubs of excellent research and home to exceptional talent.

The forum will focus on how to develop places and spaces that drive innovation and facilitate entrepreneurship. How do we create and manage an innovation precinct and what is the role of government, industry, universities and society in these precincts. Speakers from around the world representing best practices will discuss how to orchestrate innovation precincts.

We invite you to submit your case study on Innovation Precincts by March 30th. Selected cases will be discussed and presented at the forum. Download the call for cases for more information.
