Marketing and Communications Intern

About the position

We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Marketing and Communications intern to join our UIIN team in Amsterdam. UIIN is supporting universities to become more innovative institutions with a stronger impact on society. Help us to inspire and enable an exciting group of universities from across the globe, actively build relationships and contribute to their individual and institutional growth.

Over the past few years, UIIN has been in a growth phase, building its community through the establishment of new, and enhancement of current, service offerings. This is an exciting time for the organisation as we continue to grow and expand our community into new markets and improve the experience of our current community members. We are looking for you to support our Community Development team to execute our marketing and communication activities and pioneer new initiatives to grow the UIIN community.

Typical tasks may include

Supporting the implementation of UIIN’s cross-platform communication, including e-mail & social media marketing campaign
Collaborating with different teams across the company on communication strategies
Supporting the execution of UIIN’s online and offline events
Contributing to new ideas for constant improvement and streamlining of our marketing and communication strategies
Supporting recurring website updates and designs
Internal administration, procurement and reporting (e.g. responding to queries, updating invoices as needed, reporting on community engagement)

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Experience in social media marketing, search engine optimisation, communication and marketing platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Analytical and written skills, with the ability to create and write engaging content
Experience with design software i.e. Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign is a plus
Interest in higher education development, entrepreneurship and innovation is a plus
