Marko Seppä has worked as entrepreneur, researcher and venture capitalist. He builds startup ecosystems and helps entrepreneurs make business investment-ready. He helps with partnership strategies, business modeling, go-to-market actions and fund raising — sometimes as co-entrepreneur. He also advises enterprises and institutions on business creation by designing strategies, delivering training and conducting evaluations.
Marko has served universities in Jyväskylä and Tampere as builder of e-business research and invited Professor of Growth Venture Creation. He has organised over 200 live case business creation experiments, helped raise 20M€+ for 70+ R&D projects, received industry awards and delivered 158 publications/keynotes.
Aside of business creation, he has been active for over 20 years in advising policy makers on issues related to startups, digital commerce, growth funding and VC industry, by helping design and steer financial institutions, delivering training programs and conducting evaluations. His greatest take-away from this all is a multitude of close, high-trust relationships with superb fellow professionals from across Europe and the world.
Marko holds an M. Sc. in Econ from Tampere University and a PhD in Corporate Strategy from JYU.
