How Universities Shape Entrepreneurial Ecosystems: Lessons from Manchester Metropolitan University

Entrepreneurial ecosystems are often discussed as collections of founders, investors and support organisations. Yet universities frequently play a central but less visible role in shaping the conditions that allow entrepreneurship to thrive.

In this fireside chat, representatives from Manchester Metropolitan University’s Centre for Enterprise will explore how universities contribute to the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems through networks, partnerships, talent development and institutional support. Drawing on their experience within the Greater Manchester ecosystem, the conversation will examine how universities connect diverse actors, respond to local opportunities and challenges, and contribute to wider entrepreneurial outcomes.
